Awards will be presented to champions and finalists in each division and a tournament souvenir will be given to each participant.
The tournament committee reserves the right to move teams to different levels. The GCBA reserves the right to cancel hosting a division if there are not sufficient entries for competitive play. Cancellation of a division will occur no later than January 5, 2010. All participants must abide by Basketball Ontario Fair Play rules.
Basketball Ontario Affiliation and Proof of Insurance
Basketball Ontario Affiliation numbers are required of Ontario teams. Proof of team insurance is required of all non-Ontario teams.
Registration and Fees
$450 Cdn per team, payable to: Gloucester Wolverines by cheque or money order. Post dated cheques will not be accepted. No refunds to teams that withdraw 20 days or less before the tournament. Due Date of team roster (see page 3) and fees: January 15, 2010. Please forward roster and fees to: Gloucester-Cumberland Basketball Association, at the address listed above. In the event of severe weather we would try and
reschedule games to accommodate the late team(s) as
they would not be alone. In the past we have
successfully done this and made up games. Ex: we have
had Saturday make up games (tough on the team playing
three on Saturday though!). Where possible we attempt
to accommodate out of town teams with late Friday
evening games as well (and not give them Game 1
Saturday morning!).
Notwithstanding the above, in Ottawa we have to travel
to most of our major tournaments and have limited
sympathy for weather excuses. We plan accordingly.
Many parents will take the entire day off Friday and
if the forecast is bad may even travel Thursday
evening. Not everyone can take the day off however, so
we may have our son or daughter travel with another
family if we cannot leave until after work on Friday
and meet them there. We expect teams to try and make
it and to plan accordingly.
AND of course all that said, Don’t risk childrens'
lives! We will sort it out if needed.
